BOBO’s KIDS CLUB© - Learn to ski in a children's ski course with BOBO the penguin in Flachau
Normally children start learning to ski between the ages of 3 and 5. The group split is usually based on the age of the children (e.g. 3 years - minis / 4 years - group 1 / 5 years - group 2 / up to 13 years - group 10). What is more important, however, is a split that is individually adapted to the child, to his or her abilities and skill, courage and current ability. Penguin BOBO® helps the ski instructors with their work. Playfully, the kids are introduced to skiing in the children's ski course. They are accompanied by BOBO®'s adventurous stories and his journey in the Alps.

It is all about BOBO the penguin in the children’s ski school of Sport am Jet. BOBO is not only the ski school’s mascot but also a good friend to everyone on the slopes.
The BOBO KIDS CLUBS© in Austria are looking after approximately 150,000 children a year. The BOBO KIDS CLUB© was founded, not only to help the youngest guests to become fantastic skiers with the help of a special children’s programme, but also to create a child-friendly atmosphere around the lessons on the slopes.
In addition to an elaborate teaching concept based on a 4-part audio telling the adventurous story of the penguin BOBO and his journey to the Alps, the aids and teaching materials are developed according to the principles of motivation, child psychology, safety, pedagogical learning and recognisability for children.
In order to put all these ideas into practice, the KIDS CLUB partners regularly take part in training sessions, in which not only the philosophy and the idea behind the concept are explained, but also practical tips on how to look after the children, with the focus on combining the content of the ski curriculum with the history of BOBO.

The concept, which was developed in cooperation with teachers, was not only made for children, but also by children. Five different figures (bear, marmot, kangaroo, rabbit and penguin) were designed, which children could play with in a kindergarten for a month. The penguin appeared to be the absolute favourite and was already named BOBO© by one child. This result subsequently formed the basis for the entire further development of the concept.
